Complete Your Business Verification

Business Manager (BM) verification is required to unlock Meta’s advanced features, strengthen your business credibility, and ensure compliance with advertising and commerce policies.

This guide walks you through exactly what you need, how to complete the verification, and how to troubleshoot common issues.

📌 What You Need Before Starting

Prepare the following official company documents and information:

  • Legal Business Name (exactly as registered)

  • Company Registration Number (e.g., CNPJ)

  • Full Business Address

  • Recent Proof of Address

  • ID of the Legal Representative

  • Official Company Website (if applicable)

⚠️ Important: All submitted information must match exactly what is entered in Business Manager.

How to Verify Your Business in Business Manager

1️⃣ Step 1 — Access Business Settings

Go to the Business Manager settings page: 👉 business.facebook.com/settings

  • Select the Business Portfolio you want to verify.

  • Scroll down to find the Business Info section.

  • Carefully fill in all required details.

Required Information

  • Legal Business Name (exactly as registered)

  • Full Business Address

  • Business Phone Number

  • Official Website

  • Tax ID / Company Registration Number (CNPJ)

Below these fields, you may find additional settings such as advertising account limits and security options. Make sure all information is correct and up to date.

2️⃣ Step 2 —

Configure Security Requirements

To unlock the Start Verification button, you must complete all mandatory security settings.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Go to:

Security Center → Business Verification

Activate two-factor authentication for:

  • All users or

  • Only administrators

Choose your preferred code method:

  • SMS

  • Authenticator app

🔒 Why this matters: 2FA adds an extra layer of protection. Whenever someone attempts to access your account, Meta will send a verification code to ensure that only authorized users can log in.

Add a Second Administrator

Adding a backup admin increases account security and prevents loss of access.

Steps:

  • Go to Users

  • Add a trusted person as a Business Administrator

This ensures you can recover the account if the primary admin loses access.

🌐 Domain Verification (Required)

Domain verification is another essential requirement for unlocking the “Start Verification” button.

How to verify your domain

  1. In the left menu, go to: Brand Safety & Suitability → Domains

  2. Click Add Domain

  3. Enter your domain (example: www.yourcompany.com)

  4. Follow the verification instructions provided by Meta

Meta will give you a code or method to prove ownership:

  • Add a meta tag to your website

  • Or update DNS records in your hosting provider

This process verifies that the domain truly belongs to your business.

3️⃣ Step 3 — Start the Verification Process

When all previous steps are completed, the Start Verification button will appear.

How to proceed

  1. Click Start Verification

  2. Select the country where your business is registered

  3. Fill in all required information accurately

  4. If your company does not appear in the list, select: “My organization is not listed”

  5. Upload the necessary documents:

Acceptable documents include:

  • MEI Certificate or Articles of Incorporation (Contrato Social)

  • Government-issued ID of the legal representative

  • Other documents proving business legitimacy

Review Time

Meta typically reviews submissions within 2–3 business days. Once approved, your status will change to Verified, giving you enhanced operational stability.

Tracking Your Verification Status

After submitting your documents:

  • You can track progress in the Security Center

  • Meta may request additional documents

  • Review timelines vary by region and request volume

What If the “Start Verification” Button Doesn’t Appear?

This is common — and there are two proven methods to force-enable the verification flow.

Option 1 — Add a Facebook Page

  1. Go to Business Settings → Accounts → Pages

  2. Click Add or Add a Page

  3. Link your Facebook Page to Business Manager

  4. Return to the Security Center

  5. Refresh the page

➡️ The Start Verification button should now appear.

Option 2 — Create a Developer App (Guaranteed Method)

If adding a Page doesn’t resolve it:

  1. Go to developers.facebook.com

  2. Click Get Started and create a developer account

  3. Select Create App

  4. Choose Business as the app type

  5. Fill in basic information (app name, email, purpose)

  6. In the app settings, go to Permissions & Features

  7. Search for any Page-related permissions

  8. Click Request Advanced Access

At this point, Meta will require you to verify your business before granting advanced permissions — and this action will unlock the verification option in Business Manager.
